Hello Eagles! HES is an amazing place to be and I'm excited to continue building relationships and watching our young Eagles grow and learn!

As a former Hillsboro ISD graduate, I take great pride in serving our community through various educational supports. As Associate Principal, I manage all of the student services, major testing and scheduling needs for the elementary campus. I have a Bachelor's in Education from Baylor University and a Master's in Educational Leadership from Lamar University. I have 18 years of experience in education, all in Hillsboro ISD. My experiences include 1st grade teacher, 5th grade math teacher, Assistant Principal PK-2, Instructional Coach for Literacy PK-6th, and Testing Coordinator 3rd-6th.

My husband, Brandon, and I have been together over 13 years and together we have 3 amazing kids! We love watching them play sports, march in the band and as a family we enjoy fishing, hunting, visiting the beach and just being outdoors!

I hope you'll join us throughout the year for special events and we always welcome extra volunteers on campus. Please let us know how we can help you and we appreciate all your support! If you ever have questions/concerns or needs, please don't hesitate to reach out! You can reach Associate Principal Sulak at lauren.sulak@hillsboroisd.org.

Assistant Principal - Dana Sosebee

Hello! My name is Dana Sosebee, and I am thrilled to serve as the Assistant Principal at HES this year. With 25 years of experience in education, this marks my fifth year in an administrative role. I hold a Master's in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas at Arlington and am on track to earn my Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Tarleton State University this coming May.

I am a passionate, life-long learner who embraces new experiences and challenges. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, singing, and playing the piano. On a personal note, I’ve been happily married to Matt Sosebee for 18 years, and together, we have five children and one grandson. Our two youngest kids will be joining Hillsboro ISD this year. As a family, we’re very active in our church and can often be found cheering on our kids at baseball and softball games.

I look forward to the opportunity to work with our amazing community this year and contribute to the growth and success of our students! Connect with Mrs. Sosebee at dana.sosebee@hillsboroisd.org.

Counselor - Melissa Dillon

Hi, I am Melissa Dillon, and I love that I have the opportunity to serve at Hillsboro Elementary. I’m truly excited to start building relationships with your student (s). The relationships I have made with students is the reason I continue to work hard year after year.

Previously, I taught English Language Arts and Reading for 11 years at the intermediate and junior high levels, but I have also been in charge of many electives throughout my career with all age groups. I also work as an administrative assistant at a local daycare because working with children is what I love!

I am married to my husband, Blake, and we have three children. Noah is 13. Abigail is 10, and our little one, Emelia, is almost 3. In my spare time I love to paint, read, sing, and work out, so you may see me running around Hillsboro!

I am here to support you and your family, so please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or needs for your student. You can contact me at melissa.dillon@hillsboroisd.org.

Instructional Coach - Jennifer Schaffer

This is my 28th year in education and my 7th year as an Instructional Coach. This is my 3rd year as an IC at HES. I have previously taught 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th English, 5th grade all subjects, reading and math intervention, special education resource, and I was a dyslexia teacher for 3 years. I have also been the LPAC and 504 coordinator for 2 campuses in a previous district.

My husband grew up in Hillsboro, and I grew up in Whitney. We lived in the Austin area for over 20 years, but moved back home in 2023. I have been married for 29 years and have 3 children. I love reading, music, and basketball. My favorite thing about being an educator is seeing students excited to learn! I love being at HES. We have wonderful students and amazing staff members!
