Counselor - Shae Owens
Hello Eagle Families! Welcome to HES!
My name is Shae Owens. I am blessed to serve as school counselor at Hillsboro Elementary School. My husband and I have been married for over thirty years and are the proud parents of two adult children, both Hillsboro graduates.
I have served students as an educator since 1995, first as a third grade teacher and then as a school counselor. The majority of my career in education has been spent in Hillsboro ISD with amazing students and staff.
Since 2020, I have also served as a Texas Ambassador for the Choose Love Movement. I believe the essential life skills and tools of social emotional learning taught through the Choose Love curriculum are beneficial to all humans, and provide a proactive way to promote the emotional wellness of students while helping create a pathway to academic success. I am honored to share the message of “choosing love” with my school family, parents, community members, and throughout the state of Texas.
I am here to support and work with HES students and families so that all students can experience a safe, happy, successful school year as they strive to achieve their full social, emotional, and academic potential. You can reach Counselor Owens at shae.owens@hillsboroisd.org .
